I'm really liking this 70 degree weather (yes, that's right Anna, a high of 70 not a low!) but the storms are driving me crazy! Wednesday morning at about 1:00 for about a half an hour the was continuous thunder and lightening! Thunder storms don't usually bother me, but this was really scary! When Dallin came and crawled into our bed, I really wished I was a kid again and could crawl in bed with my parents.
It reminded me of the storm last week in Castle Rock. There was flash after flash of lightening, and continuous rumbling, no way to figure out how close it was, so we just hid under our covers and hoped it would be over soon. It wasn't until a few days later we found out it was a tornado in Castle Rock! Before we moved there we were assured that Castle Rock would never have a tornado, and while we lived there 2 years, two tornadoes touched down! And Castle Rock doesn't have a warning system in place so both times we didn't know we were supposed to take shelter. Luckily, we didn't have any damage either time, but I kept thinking about that during the storm the other night. I don't know if Fort Collins has a warning system either, so I was checking on the TV stations for at least a sever thunder storm warning, but there wasn't anything. It was frustrating, not knowing if we should get up the other boys and go in the basement, but eventually it moved on and we didn't have any real damage here either.

70 degrees as a high? Now...that's NOT fair! Try 95 as a high at 5am! Oh those severe thunderstorms can be quite frightening...I remember when we lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma hearing a siren go off. I was pregnant with Alycia and we were living in an apartment on the second floor. I think we had only been there for a month. Super spooky! So yes I do know how you felt. I would love to see a "real thunderstorm" soon...I'm tired of blue cloudless skies...
